TV show Addiction/Obsession

In the past couple of years I have become a big time TV show addict. One after the other and seasons after seasons, the obsession continues in the year 2012. When I am hooked to a particular TV show I momentarily switch off my life and get into the world of characters of the show. They make me laugh; they make me cry and also at times make me ponder on my own life. Here are some of the shows in random order.

1. Coupling:

This was the very first TV show where I completed all the seasons. And this happened so long time ago that I hardly remember anything about the show but one thing is for sure that I had crazy time watching it! The genre is adult humor and if you have a hard time understanding the so called 'double meaning jokes' then you might want to skip this one.

2. Keeping Up With The Kardashians:

I am certainly not ashamed to admit that I am a fan of this show! This family is pure entertainment. It is a reality show into the life of the Kardashian sisters. Many find this show lame but they make me laugh all the time so what the hell. Khloe is my favourite sister among the three. This show is a perfect example of how stupid some celebs can be!

3. Dexter:

I never believed that one could become so attached to a TV show or its characters till the time I started with the Dexter series and since then it has been my favorite show so far. My close friends are probably sick of me by now coz I am yapping about this show all the time! That is coz it is so fucking awesome and I wish everyone watched it for the brilliant performance by all the actors. The show is about a serial killer in lead role who kills serial killers. Sounds absurd? I thought so too but since I started watching it I have been hooked on! Also let me warn you that some of the scenes in the show are not for the faint hearted.

4. Gossip Girl:

This show is like those chick flicks girls love to watch and drool over. I don't think any guy follows this show coz let me admit it, it's lame! Yeah right, but we girls will continue to watch it coz we are such suckers for romance. The show is about the elite class and revolves around their relationships, parties, fashion and big time drama. I am beginning to lose interest in this show but I know I will get back to it just to see what Serena will wear next!

5. Modern Family:

This is the most adorable show you can ever stumble upon. Humour at its best, fresh characters and good script. Don't think, just go watch it and you can thank me later. My favourite character is without a doubt Gloria.

6. Two And A Half Men:

When sex and humour is put together this show is what happens. I do not follow this show religiously but whenever I am bored I tune into to have a good laugh. Charlie steals the show whereas Alan is a superb actor but I find his kid a bit annoying. Also I think the show has lost its charm with Charlie gone now but I do love Ashton Kutcher to death!

7. Entourage:

This show clearly is not an ideal show to watch coz of the foul language but I love watching it for its characters, they are amazing! WARNING: The show also has explicit scenes.

8. How I Met Your Mother:

Barney! Barney! Barney! The only reason I am still caught up with this show is for Barney Stinson! Oh come on let’s admit it aren't we all already bored with so much suspense as to who the mother is? I really enjoyed watching the earlier seasons even though many found this show being inspired by 'Friends'.

9. Castle:

Ever since I was in school I wanted to be a detective. Yeah, really. And something that time made me think that I will be a successful one too! But clearly that is not happening anymore which brings me to all the detective TV shows I am obsessed with and among them my favourite will be Castle. Again a very light-hearted show and I absolutely love the chemistry between the leads.

10. Bigg Boss:

All throughout this post if you were wondering whether I have any space for an Indian TV show, oh yes I have a single space reserved especially for Bigg Boss. If I say I am crazy about this show, it will be an understatement. This is the only Indian show which entertains me and for which I am eagerly waiting for every year. Add to these a couple of other shows such as Dance India Dance etc.; rest of the Indian Television is very mediocre. Roadies is beginning to become a pain and MTV hasn’t churned out a good show since ages.

P.S: I am going to own the entire DVD set of Dexter once I start earning money.

P.P.S: 'Friends' wasn't included in the list for obvious reasons.
